Sensors have a wide range of applications in the transportation industry

Sensors have various applications in the transportation industry, including traffic monitoring, signal control, parking management, safety improvement, sustainable transportation, and intelligent transportation systems.

Sensors are widely used in the transportation industry, mainly including intelligent transportation systems, rail transit, smart transportation, and other fields. These applications not only improve the efficiency of traffic management, but also enhance traffic safety.

In intelligent transportation systems, sensors are used to achieve the intelligence and automation of transportation equipment. Through technologies such as photoelectric sensors, LiDAR, and computer vision, real-time collection, processing, and analysis of traffic data can be achieved, providing effective decision support for traffic management. For example, LSD-LWH multi-lane dynamic external profile detection system developed independently by G-TEK Sensor Technology, the measurement system utilizes unique data algorithms to process the collected structural data and ultimately restore the dimensional features of the measured vehicle's exterior. This system has been widely used for non site law enforcement vehicle contour detection.

Sensor technology also has important applications in rail transit. A large number of current sensors and voltage sensors are used in the traction control system and auxiliary power supply system of modern urban subways and light rail vehicles to achieve closed-loop control of the entire system. In addition, high-precision sensor technology is required to support the operation status information, rail inspection, and remote monitoring of track status of high-speed rail trains. The safety protection around the railway can also be achieved with barrier sensors and light grids.
