The safety system of the speed turnstile gate consists of four parts: initial sensing detection area, safety anti-pinch detection area, tracking detection area, and low position safety detection area.
The initial sensing area, also known as the card swiping sensing area, when the cardholder swipes the card, the infrared sensor located in initial sensing detection area detect the cardholder, only the person pass in the same direction as the swiping direction could the barrier open to  allow passage, Once the photo eyes sense a follower, it immediately feeds back a signal to the central control system to activate the prevention function. When the safety sensor detects an illegal entry attempt (without swiping or invalid card), the alarm and prevention functions are activated, so that the door body does not activate the door wings while giving an alarm.

The safety anti-pinch detection area is composed of four pairs of infrared sensors, used to detect the status of people or objects in the passage channel and the active area of the door wing. Due to the fact that the activity area of the passage gate wing is considered a hazardous area, without precise safety detection equipment and gate wing safety driving mechanism, the equipment itself may pose a threat to the personal safety and material safety of personnel or objects passing through the passage. The infrared sensor or light curtain safe beams can effectively detect the status of the active area of the channel door wing. When a person or object is detected to be stuck in the channel, the quick pass door device will activate an alarm while keeping the door wing open to protect personnel from being caught by the door wing.

The tracking detection area is installed more than 8 pairs of infrared photocell  sensors providing better protection against following and trailing. Multiple pairs of infrared sensors detect the position and movement process of a person during passage and can effectively detect the movement and position of personnel tracking their passage and provide appropriate feedback to the control system. At such detection area the slim type light screen sensor are often a good choice to simplify the installation of multiple sensors.

The sensors in low position safety detection area mainly detect if there are suitcases, small carts, and smaller children in the passage. Cooperate with other infrared sensors in the tracking detection area to accurately determine the movement position of luggage, small carts, and children in the channel, ensuring their safe passage.
