Safety light curtain, also known as photoelectric safety protection device (also known as safety protection device, punching protection device, infrared safety protection device, etc.), is mainly composed of a light projector and a light receiver. The light emitter emits modulated infrared light, which is received by the light receiver, forming a protective net. When an object enters the protection net, and the light is blocked by the object, through the internal control circuit, the light receiver circuit responds immediately, that is, a signal is output in the output part, the door stops closing immediately and starts to open again. The most direct and efficient security solution can effectively solve 80% of the security problems in the use of industrial doors.

Why did we choose light curtains?

In order to prevent the functional failure of industrial doors, the most common safety devices on the market are mainly airbags and photoelectric switches.

Airbags mainly play a protective role and exist to protect the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. However, the controller needs to regularly check the airbag installed on the industrial sliding door to see whether its rebound function is normal when it encounters resistance, whether it is damaged by external force, and whether there is air leakage. If the airbag of the industrial door is found to be leaking or damaged by external force, it is necessary to replace the airbag with a new one immediately. Additionally, the system requires touching objects before being activated. In the case of a moving object, the damage may have been done by the time the door stopped opening. So he is more expendable.

The photoelectric switch requires no additional maintenance, but it's still not our preferred option because the photoelectric sensor doesn't cover the entire door opening. If a smaller object passes through the door, the photocell may not notice it. The light curtain covers the majority of the door opening, so we think it's the best choice for an industrial door security system.
