Information

Laser LIDAR sensor operates based on the principle of Time of Flight (ToF). Compared with the traditional infrared sensor light curtain, there is no longer a detection blind spot on the door leaf, and the extended area detection function on the front edge of the door leaf can more comprehensively ensure the safety of the entire door. Only one sensor is needed to ensure the safety of three hazardous areas. The application of LiDAR in automatic door opening and closing syetem can improve the safety, stability, and response speed of automatic doors, thereby better serving user needs.

LMO Lidar sensor

Laser technology operates based on the principle of Time of Flight (ToF). The sensor sends strong light pulses in the specified direction and measures the time the signal returns. Due to the constant speed of light (approximately 300000 km/s), this time is proportional to the distance between the sensor and the first target encountered by the light pulse. Therefore, by sending multiple beams in multiple directions (2D or 3D), the sensor can understand the exact position of any target within its detection area at any given time. And analyze this information in a short period of time to determine the shape, velocity, and direction of the object. Laser technology provides more precise and accurate detection methods for products in the current market, as well as a higher level of safety. Due to its precise detection technology, laser sensors have multiple advantages such as Easy to install, overall safety protection which makes the laser LIDAR used more and more at automatic doors.

The application of laser LIDAR sensor in automatic door entrance solution usually has two aspects:

Light curtain detection: LiDAR can create an invisible "light curtain" by emitting a laser beam and detecting the reflected light. When someone passes through this light curtain, the LiDAR will immediately detect and transmit the signal to the door controller. The door controller controls the opening and closing of the door based on the received signal, allowing people to enter and exit freely.

Radar tracking: LiDAR can also achieve radar tracking function, which can display the target object in its coordinates relative to the radar system on the screen, and then control the opening and closing of the automatic door based on the direction and speed of the target object's movement. This solution is particularly practical in places with high pedestrian traffic, such as airports, shopping malls, etc.
