Access control lidar manufacturers say that lidar is a sensor that is currently changing the world. It is widely used in self-driving cars, drones, autonomous robots and more. By measuring the propagation distance between the sensor transmitter and the target object, the laser analyzes the reflected energy on the surface of the target object, the amplitude, frequency and phase of the reflected spectrum, and outputs a point cloud, thereby presenting the accurate three-dimensional structure information of the target.
Access control lidar manufacturers say that lidar is composed of a laser transmitting unit and a laser receiving unit. The working mode of the transmitting unit is to emit laser beam layers outward. The more layers, the higher the accuracy and the larger the sensor size. The access control lidar manufacturer said that after the transmitting unit emits the laser, when the laser encounters obstacles, it will reflect and be received by the receiver. The receiver creates a set of point clouds according to the time of each laser emission and return. Lidar, which can emit up to 200 laser beams per second.
Regarding the wavelength of the laser, access control lidar manufacturers say that currently, laser transmitters with wavelengths of 905nm and 1550nm are mainly used, and light with a wavelength of 1550nm is not easily transmitted in the liquid of the human eye. Therefore, 1550nm can greatly improve the transmit power under the premise of ensuring safety. Access control lidar manufacturers have found that high power can achieve longer detection distances, and long wavelengths can also improve anti-interference capabilities. However, the 1550nm laser needs to use InGaAs, which is currently difficult to mass produce. Therefore, more and more Si materials are used to mass-produce 905nm LiDAR. Safety is guaranteed by limiting power and pulse time.
