Sensor solutions for overrun detection of smart parking

In recent years, the elevator garage has been paid more and more attention and used because of its high efficiency and land saving. Three-dimensional garages can be placed in different types of garages according to different sites. Now many cities in the traffic parking system are three-dimensional garage as an indispensable part.

The three-dimensional garage is equipped with a special loading plate for each parking space, and the entire process of access to the vehicle is completed by an electrically controlled lifting and transverse transmission system. The movement of the loaded vehicle in the garage constitutes the main behavior of the whole parking system. In the whole process, it is particularly important to control the position of the vehicle. So how to accurately control the parking position of the vehicle?

(1) Through beam optical sensors detection-accurately control the parking position of the vehicle
Solutions:
PF50T is the most commonly used overrun detection sensor in the three-dimensional parking system. They are often recognized as highly reflective objects due to differences in vehicle surface material or paint. If you use ordinary reflector type photoelectric sensor is very easy to sensor false trigger, resulting in signal transmission error and smash the car and other problems.
In the vertical cycle garage, to determine the vehicle parked in place detection will usually be placed around the carrier plate each set of PF50T photoelectric sensors, a total of four sets.

In the lift-and-transverse garage, usually placed at the entrance of a set or two sets of PF50T to detect whether the vehicle is parked in place. The common lift-and-transverse garage mainly takes 3 parking spaces as a group, and the PF50T detects a rich selection of distances, which is suitable for the choice of stereo garage with multiple parking spaces. Not only stable performance, but also help to control the installation cost.

(2) Retro-reflective optical sensors detection for double-deck parking equipment
Solutions:
G-TEK's PF50R-AR mirror-reflective photoelectric sensors are most commonly used in simple double-deck parking devices. The sensors are fixed at the brackets on both sides of the device and determine whether the vehicle is parked in place by detecting the position under the wheels. If it detects the presence of a vehicle under the carrier plate and has been parked in place, the device will be activated to lift the vehicle to the upper parking space, leaving the lower parking space empty. PF50R-AR mirror reflective photoelectric sensor is different from ordinary mirror reflective sensors, which uses a laser light source and has a built-in polarization design, effectively filtering stray light and reducing the occurrence of highly reflective objects accidental contact phenomenon. It is also easier to install because of the reflector design. Excellent performance and easy installation make them a popular choice for simple parking equipment.

(3) Long range diffused optical sensors detection
Solutions:
Diffuse reflective photoelectric sensors are also commonly installed in simple double-deck parking racks for vehicle in-place detection. Usage and installation are the same as PF50R-AR laser mirror reflection photoelectric sensor. But the difference is that it is mainly installed in the single bracket of the three-dimensional parking equipment.

(4)  Prevent oversized vehicles from entering the garage
Solutions:
In a stereo garage, the position of each garage is fixed. In order to prevent unsuitable sized vehicles from entering the garage, height limit sensors are usually installed at the entrance of the garage door. LMO LIDAR is miniature, compact and easy to install. 10m detecting distance provides customers with the most accurate detection.

In the automatic vertical lift three-dimensional parking garage, in order to prevent more parking spaces in the limited space, usually the size of each parking space will not be set too wide. In order to prevent scratches during vehicle handling, the vehicle mirrors are required to be closed after parking. LMO LIDAR is usually installed on both sides above the vehicle. The fan-shaped detection area can detect whether the vehicle door is not closed and the rearview mirror is closed.
