Sensor solutions for express logistics sorting system

The express logistics industry is an indispensable part of today's society, and automated sorting systems are the most core part of express logistics. Automated sorting system refers to the use of automated equipment such as computers, photoelectric sensors, and robotic arms to sort express packages, in order to improve sorting efficiency, reduce labor costs, and avoid manual errors. The automated sorting system based on intelligent logistics centers incorporates intelligent elements to automatically classify express deliveries by scanning delivery codes, identifying delivery features, and other methods. It can achieve automated classification of express deliveries of different models, brands, volumes, and weights. In intelligent logistics centers, automated sorting systems can further be combined with logistics information systems to achieve tracking and traceability of express packages throughout the entire logistics process, providing various data support for operational adjustments.


(1) The parcel supply desk is the starting point of the automated sorting system for express delivery. the volume of the parcel is detected through measuring gratings / measurement light curtains. Combined with the weight measurement and the surface sheet analysis data, the parcel has been read by the main control system before it formally enters the line, which can quickly match the corresponding loading trolley and unloading chute, greatly simplify the processing process of cargo packages.

 

Solutions:
The high-precision measuring light curtain can be easily applied to the detection and measurement of the overall dimensions of objects in production lines, assembly lines, logistics lines and packaging lines, such as the measurement of the length, width, height and volume of objects, and can also be used for single application or measurement of unilateral products. Secondary programming can be used to realize the data transmission that customers want to show.

(2) Express packages are transported along the conveyor, and packages from different destinations are transported to different grids and dropped into the corresponding sorting bags. When the number/weight of packages in this large bag reaches the specified range, the grid light will light up, reminding the staff to build and sew the package timely and to replace the large bags above in a timely manner. During this process, the information about building the package needs to be scanned by a spear to be transmitted to the sorting system.
Then how to detect the drop bags and judge the full state of the sorting bags?

 

Solutions:
Bag rack type sorting is a common method of cross belt sorting. Installing PF21T or PF21B background suppression diffuse reflection sensors at the sorting port can perform real-time detection of bagged packages. Slim type LSEC grating products can also be used to achieve precise detection of small items, express letters, audio-visual products, and other flat objects, effectively avoiding missed inspections.

(3) In the cross sorting system, check whether the bagged goods are about to be filled.

 

Solutions:
Install diffuse type PF21B-900A at the side of the conveyor line of the cross sorting system and set the detection range according to the requirements. If goods are detected within the detection range, the photoelectric output responds, indicating that the goods have reached the position where they are about to be filled.
