LIDAR Crane Beam collision prevention 

 

During the displacement process of the STS quay crane, the front beam will move horizontally along with the translation of the large vehicle traveling mechanism. However, due to the high position of chimneys, antennas, etc. on the ship, they may exceed the height of the beam during normal operation. Additionally, the quay crane driver's field of view is affected by the steel structure and cannot fully observe the surrounding obstacles. Therefore, there is a risk of collision with the beam. A beam collision prevention scheme based on laser scanning technology, by setting the area health function of the laser scanner, provides an alarm or emergency stop signal in advance before the ship collides with the beam to prevent danger from occurring.

 

Application location: Shore quay crane  (STS) 

Function:The Lidar equipment is installed at the center/or one side of the beam to prevent collision with the ship's antenna, chimney, container, etc. One crane uses two sets of equipment. Two protection zones, alarm zone and emergency stop zone, can be set up.
