In the intelligent transportation system, vehicle toll collection system such as in highways is an important part. With the development of technology, there are fewer and fewer manual inspections. Strengthening traffic supervision through technological means, using vehicle axle type and number as the basis for toll collection, plays a core role in accurate billing and intelligent auditing at toll stations.

 

Traditional wheel axle detector uses contact measurement, which cannot recognize reversing and is prone to queue errors, affecting recognition rates. It is greatly affected by road conditions and construction quality, and has a short lifespan and high maintenance costs.

G-TEK LSD111 laser axle identifier adopts non-contact detection technology, which is easy to install and maintain. Its working principle is based on the TOF principle, which can detect real-time changes in the distance of the tire passing through the device, thereby perceiving the tire contour and determining the vehicle's axle information. It can replace light gratings, laser vehicle detectors, and loop detectors. It can be widely used in vehicle type recognition, vehicle separation, overloading at high-way entrance and other occasions.  
Utilizing the high-speed scanning characteristics of lasers, when a vehicle is detected passing by, vehicle detection is started. When the front of the vehicle enters the detection range, the axle type recognition algorithm is started. When the rear of the vehicle leaves the detection range, the axle recognition algorithm outputs the detection result. After the operation of the mathematical model, the vehicle data is provided to the overload control system or related platforms. The product has strong anti-interference ability, and data detection remains accurate in severe weather such as rain, snow, fog, ice and frost, effectively reducing safety hazards on highways.
