    Sensor solutions for revolving doors

With the development of the times, revolving doors have been widely used in various high-rise buildings and become ubiquitous. Many people enter and exit through revolving doors every day, so it is very important to ensure the safety of people entering and exiting through revolving doors.

Real time monitoring of the situation around the door, once obstacles or pedestrians are detected, the safety mechanism will be immediately triggered to stop the movement of the door or slow down the speed.

    (1) Realtime presence monitoring
    Solutions:
Microwave motion sensors detect moving objects in the entrance area through microwave signals to achieve automatic door opening and closing control.

    (2) Anti-pinch for the entrance
    Solutions:
The automatic revolving door anti pinch sensors is to ensure that the revolving door does not pinch people or objects during operation, thereby ensuring personal safety. Automatic door anti-pinch sensors detect the distance between the door and the human body. When the distance is detected to be too close, the sensors will send a signal to stop the movement of the door, avoiding the occurrence of injury accidents

    (3)  Maximum reliability for compact space
    Solutions:
In the narrow space of the revolving doors, small and compact sensors was needed for anti-pinch application. The PT12V through beam photo eyes is an effective safety solution. The infrared signal emitted by the eyes on one side of the door frame reaches the receiver eyes on the other side, which will establish a straight light path. As long as the ray path is obstructed by children, pets, disabled individuals, or anyone standing in the passage, the safety beam sensor or light barrier will immediately detect the obstacle and prevent the door from closing, thereby preventing people or objects in the middle from entering and clamping. Due to the structural characteristics of automatic sliding doors, generally, mini type opposed sensors are a common choice.

    (4) To adapt to the background change characteristics of the rotating objects
    Solutions:
PF21B active infrared sensor is set to the background suppression operation mode. The background will be detected, but will not be responded. During the detection process, only the reflection from objects in the scanning area can generate action signals to the system. Changes from the suppressed background (such as ground material, humidity, small debris, light exposure) do not trigger the signal. Background suppression technology provides reliable and effective protection measures for rotating objects, unaffected by background reflection which makes it widely used in automatic revolving doors, automatic swing doors.
